Apartment Seven

Private Residence | New York, NY | Unbuilt

The 400 square foot apartment for a musician initially called for an acoustically-insulated sound booth and lofted bed. This allowed for intimate recordings and jam sessions to take place within an adaptable living space. Ultimately, the building co-op rules did not allow for this condition, so the client opted for the plan below, including a Murphy bed to maximize open living space.

Key elements were thankfully able to be retained, such as a consolidated wet area, allowing for continuous circulation, which prevented dead end spaces.
