Apartment Seven

Private Residence | New York, NY | Unbuilt

The 400 square foot apartment for a musician initially called for an acoustically insulated sound booth and lofted bed. This allowed for intimate recordings and jam sessions can take place within an open living space. Ultimately, the building co-op rules did not allow for this condition, so the client opted for the plan below, including a Murphy bed.

Key elements were thankfully able to be retained, such as a consolidated wet area allowing for continuous circulation, avoiding dead end spaces.
