House Five | Private Residence | Pound Ridge, New York | In progress

Awards: The Architect’s Newspaper Best of Design Award for Unbuilt Residential Project, Honorable Mention

House Five is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, mass timber, post and beam living space located in Westchester County, New York. We re-interpreted the open plan, such that the point-load structural system freed the exterior walls to allow for 360-degree views of the landscape. The project uses solar glass technology to connect the client’s electric car for charging.  The central poche element negotiates the four main spaces of public living and dining room, and the two main private bedrooms. A curtain element further allows for flexible physical and visual delineations, as well as diffuse light throughout.  Finally, the roof provides additional outdoor space and vegetable garden, accessible through a hidden partition within the poché just off the kitchen.

Project Team: Daisy Ames, Alek Tomich, and Angela Sun. Models by Adare Brown and Vicky Achnani.
